Fresh facts emerge over Dr. Isa Ahmed’s N50bn scandal as FIRS confirms an alien account transacted N50bn subsequent to end of partnership with Dr. Uzu

The battle between Dr. Uzu Onyemaechi of Ruzu Herbal Products and Services Ltd and Dr. Isa Ahmed, aka the ordinary president of Berekete Family, continues as FIRS reaffirms that N50bn was transacted in the account in dispute, accruing 2bn in unpaid tax in the last 4 years.
It will be recalled that the FIRS Alimosho office in September 2024 apprehended the CEO of Ruzu Herbal Products and Services Ltd., Dr. Uzu Onyemaechi, over an evasion of tax payment of N2,000,000,000 generated from four GTBank accounts with over N50,000,000,000 transactions made in the last 4 years. The accounts are:

Information has it that these four accounts were opened by Dr Isa Ahmed’s account officer Olufemi Usman who had previously worked with GTbank but now with Eco bank. Dr. Uzu Onyemaechi Roberts initially had authorized the opening of this account for commission payment of Ruzu products distributed by Dr. Isa Ahmed, who was then in partnership with Ruzu Herbal Products and Services Ltd., but the latter converted that account for personal use, accruing 2bn tax owing to FIRS after the end of the partnership.
The end of the partnership occurred between Dr. Uzu and Dr. Isa Ahmed, aka the ordinary president of the Berekete Family, when he (Dr. Isa) made a demand for an increased commission from 30% to 50%, which was met with a decline by Dr. Uzu, hence the end of the partnership deals. However, Dr. Isa Ahmed went on to make personal transactions to the tune of N50bn, accruing taxes from his transaction unrelated to the Ruzu company.
Dr. Uzu noted that he is not a signatory to the said account, which may sound odd to the public because, at the time of account opening, Dr. Isa Ahmed’s lawyer, Barr. Uche Uwazuluonye, was made the sole signatory to the account for reasons that Dr. Isa, as an anti-government person, will prefer anonymity over his financial transactions with people so as not to attract the prying of government agencies into his business.
Due to the aforementioned, Dr. Uzu trusted Dr. Isa Ahmed, aka the ordinary president, based on his display of integrity to give out company documents for the creation of a payment commission account with GTBank via Dr. Isa’s account officer Olufemi Usman.
Dr. Uzu explained further that:
“As the CEO of Ruzu Herbal Products and Services Ltd., it was not mandatory that I give out company details for account creation meant for commission payments to my clients. I did based on trust but had been betrayed, intimidated, and bullied.’
“FIRS released documents showing the accumulation of tax from 4 years ago when we ended cooperation. I am not a signatory to the account in dispute; I do not get alerts of what goes in and out. Dr. Isa Ahmed and his lawyer, Barr. Uche Uwazuluonye, get alerts and have access to the accounts. If their hands are clean, they need to present the account statements from that year to date.”
“Dr. Isa Ahmed, aka ordinary president, should stop peddling lies and stop destroying the image of Ruzu Herbal Products to gain public relevance. What he should be doing now is having a meeting with his subordinates Barr. Uche Uwazuluonye, whom he calls on air to bear falsehood, and his PA Barr. Pamela Pius, who also bears false witness, on how to pay a tax of N2bn owing to FIRS; otherwise, meet me and my lawyer in court if the 14-day ultimatum given elapses.”
The letter of demand by Zyang Zi (SAN) particularly emphasizes that
* A statement of accounts from the aforementioned account numbers should be provided to corroborate with the FIRS record.
*Give accounts of all the monies that passed through those bank accounts at Guarantee Trust Bank (GTB) and any other bank you used. Our clients documents to open an account, pay the Federal Inland Revenue Services (FIRS) the sum of N2,000,000,000.00 (two billion naira), and any other monies demanded by FIRS as tax.
*Submit to our clients all the bank statements as requested via their letter dated 13/12/2024 forthwith.
Where you fail to comply with this letter within 14 days, we shall be left with no option other than to commence appropriate legal proceedings against you without any further notice.
