The Nigerian street-pop singer Habeeb Okikiola, better known by his stage name Portable, has turned down a ₦100 million offer to battle Martins Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), a social media critic.
Portable reportedly stated that he would only agree to pay ₦1 billion to meet with VDM in person.
Remember how their argument started when Portable accused VDM of insulting Nigeria’s authority by criticizing the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu?
Both individuals began a barrage of internet attacks after Portable’s comments, exchanging insults, accusations, and diss recordings directed at one another.

“You fight the government that doesn’t send you.” In one of his Instagram videos, Portable stated, “Mind your own business.”
The offer of ₦100 million to fight VeryDarkMan was rejected by Portable in a widely shared video, saying that he frequently gets such sums from his fan base.
“My fans give me that ₦100 million,” he stated. For me, ₦100 million is insufficient to combat VDM. If they give me a billion dollars, I’ll fight and defeat him.
“I’ll fight anyone who can drop ₦1 billion.” You’re asking me to battle and defeat someone you can’t hold.
