Siminalayi Fubara, the governor of Rivers State, has disclosed his reasons for switching from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
The governor reportedly declared earlier in the week that he was switching from the main opposition party to the APC.
The governor stated that he chose to support President Bola Tinubu’s reelection campaign while speaking at the government house in Port Harcourt on Friday and accepting the APC membership card from the party’s chairman, Chief Tony Okocha.
The governor emphasized that joining the APC gives the state the chance to have a positive working relationship with the president, characterizing the move as a “spiritual assignment.”
