Abia State Governor Alex Otti has strongly warned against election fraud, emphasizing that politicians who intend to rig elections should first draft their will.
In a video posted on Channels Television’s YouTube page, the governor issued this warning on Thursday during the October episode of Alex Otti Speaks to Abians, which was hosted at the Government House in Umuahia.
According to Otti, the results of the state’s 2027 elections will be determined by the will of God and the populace.
“I’ve heard from some of his acquaintances that they need to take control of this state and write results, but my only recommendation is that they write something else first if they really want to produce results.
“Are you aware of its nature? their volition,” Otti remarked.
According to reports, he was answering a question concerning recent statements attributed to Benjamin Kalu, the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, who said that the All Progressives Congress would seize Abia in 2027.
His caution follows early political wrangling ahead of Abia State’s 2027 gubernatorial election.
According to reports, the Labour Party governor’s victory in the 2023 election put an end to the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) more than 20 years of control in the state.
