On Monday, gunmen attacked the Umunze Police Station in the Orumba South Local Government Area of Anambra State, resulting in the deaths of two officers.
The attackers employed improvised explosives and firearms, setting parts of the station ablaze. This attack follows a similar incident two weeks prior at the Divisional Police Station in Oba.
SP Tochukwu Ikenga of the Anambra State Police Command confirmed the attack and reported that five unexploded devices were recovered from the scene.

He said that a joint security force has been mobilized to track down the perpetrators.
Commissioner of Police in the state, Nnaghe Obono Itam, who visited the site, called for public assistance in the ongoing investigation.
Reacting, a member of the House of Representatives, Princess Chinwe Nnabuife condemned the assault, offering condolences and pledging to collaborate with federal agencies to tackle the security challenges in the region. She urged the community to remain calm and support efforts to restore order.
