A devastating attack by gunmen in Congo village, Bokkos local government area of Plateau state, has left at least six people dead and one critically injured.
The incident occurred on Tuesday at approximately 7pm, when the assailants stormed the community’s market and opened fire on the victims.
According to sources within the community, the market had just closed for the day, leaving only a few individuals behind. The injured victim is currently receiving medical attention.

This latest attack has heightened tensions in the area, as Bokkos LGA has experienced a series of attacks on various communities in recent times.
The Plateau state police command has yet to comment on the incident, as DSP Alabo Alfred, the command’s spokesperson, has not responded to press inquiries.
The community remains on edge, seeking answers and justice for the victims of this senseless violence.
