Wani, a fast-rising Nigerian artist, has drawn criticism for calling Peter Obi, the presidential candidate for the 2023 Labour Party, voice “annoying.”

After Peter Obi lost the 2023 presidential race, the singer openly expressed relief, stating that he couldn’t have “tolerated” his voice for eight years.

Wani said on his X handle, “I don’t think I could have put up with P*ter *bi’s voice for eight years, man!”
On paper, though, he’s right on point.

Even though his post caused criticism, the artist maintained that he had the right to voice his thoughts regardless of the consequences.

According to one @Hillz_Hilary, “expressing political opinions is the worst thing an artist can do.”

And Wani said, “What political opinion? I simply dislike the way the ngga speaks, is that a crime?

“The way some of you think,” stated @SarahIkhami. What relation does his voice have to anything?

Wani retorted, “I find Peter Obi’s voice to be grating. Try asking these idiots how it became into a political argument.

The singer was warned to be canceled by supporters of the former LP candidate.

“You are canceled,” @Delachimes wrote. For you, there would be no tours, no streams, and no music career. Not in my reign.

You’re a soft-hearted idiot, @WaniWndr,” @MouthNeverest wrote. To keep your friends and family entertained for a short while, you should keep creating toilet seat music.

Despite your wealth and connections in Lagos, you haven’t blown since 2016. Oniru, you came to the studio to smoke loudly on Palace Road.
