Human Rights Activist, Comrade Prince Saviour Iche urges Femi Falana SAN to withdraw defamation case against VDM; says it’s a fight between David and Goliath

Comrade Prince Saviour Iche, a human rights activist, is calling out to Senior Advocate of Nigeria and Human Rights Activist, Femi Falana, to withdraw the case against Martin Vincent Otse, aka ‘Very Dark Man’, following his attendance in court on Thursday, November 14, 2024. He described the case between the very dark man and Femi Falana as a fight between David and Goliath as represented in the Bible.
Comrade Iche noted that he witnessed the loud ovation VDM got before and after his appearance in court. Says fans came in their numerous numbers to support VDM, not Femi Falana, for the hearing of the case of defamation, which stemmed from a leaked recording stating bribery allegations of some millions involving Femi Falana SAN and the EFCC, given by popular Nigerian crossdresser Bobrisky.
Comrade Prince Saviour Iche explained that his comparison of the two (Femi Falana and VDM) with the case of David and Goliath stems from what he witnessed in court. He says VDM has a large number of followers and ardent supporters who’re ready to back him up over his truth. In other words, it will be shameful if Falana, out of pettiness, loses the case against VDM; Nigerians regard the senior advocate with utmost respect over the years for his fight against the violation of human rights and zero tolerance for crime and corruption. Being fingered in a case such as this is like tainting his name if not properly handled with wisdom and fatherly prowess.
Iche further stated that:
“It should be recalled that in April, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) arrested Bobrisky on six counts of money laundering and naira mutilation. During his trial at the Federal High Court in Lagos, Justice Abimbola Awogboro dismissed the money laundering charges (counts five and six) but sentenced the social media personality to six months in prison for Naira abuse.
“However, a little over a month after his release, Martins Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan, posted a leaked audio recording on Instagram in which Bobrisky narrated the events that transpired during his prison term.
“In the audio, Bobrisky can be heard discussing with a friend how EFCC officials allegedly extorted N15 million from him to drop the money laundering charges.
“However, my issue here is with the voice note released by a very dark man, which has not been proven to be false yet. The only demand made was an apology for defamation by Falana’s son, popularly called Falz.
“More also, the invitation by the National Assembly handed to both VDM and Bobrisky was only honored by VDM, and nothing was done to chastise the erring other, who was represented by his lawyer, accompanied by flimsy excuses.
“It should be noted that the inception of the leaked audio stemmed from a failed contract between the sender of audio and Bobrisky. This led the sender to leak audio to VDM with the intention to expose Bobrisky’s atrocities. Again, Bobrisky, having found out the audio has been leaked, immediately settled the aggrieved. This simply means the audio was real, not doctored.
“After his non-appearance at the National Assembly upon invitation, Bobrisky was apprehended by the EFCC twice, both at the Nigerian border and airport, even with his disguise, but released thereafter. In the midst of this crisis, the crossdresser has finally left Nigeria for London, having been the reason for the chaos.
Iche, in his statement, pleaded with the senior advocate Femi Falana to withdraw the case against Very Dark Man as a father figure revered for his astute policies when it involves human rights matters. Also advises the senior advocate to consider his son’s musical career as VDM’s fans are threatening to embark on creating storms in Falz’s music career to show support for their idol Martins Otse.
He added that Femi Falana SAN should secretly call off the case against VDM before the next sitting on January 23rd, 2024, to avoid tainting his reputation.
