Human Rights advocate Comrade Prince Saviour Iche is calling on clergymen and elder statesmen to engage President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in a discussion over the long-standing crisis of hardship plaguing the nation from his administration.

Elder statesmen in the likes of former president Ibrahim Babangida, Yakubu Gowon, Abdulsalam Abubakar, Olusegun Obasanjo, Chief Olusegun Osoba, Gen. Alani Ipoola Akinrinde, Edwin Clark, Pa Adebanjo, Emeka Anyaoku, and other prominent Christian clerics, including Pst Enoch Adeboye, Pastor William Kumuyi, Pastor Tunde Bakare, Pst Paul Adefarasin, Pst Matthew Ashimolowo Primate Ayodele, Pastor Daniel Kayode Olukoya, and Bishop Mike Okonkwo. Muslim clerics—Sheikh Ahmad Gumi, Sultan Muhammadu Sa’ad Abubakar IV, the Sultan of Sokoto, Ibrahim Saleh Al-Husaini, Sheikh Nasir Muhammad Umar Kabara, others—who have turned a blind eye to the critical situation befalling Nigeria should walk away from their shells and come out in their numbers to call President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to order.

According to Comrade Iche, the aforementioned elder statesmen and clerics have what it takes to call on the president for a reform. He says Nnamdi Azikwe, Pa Enahoro, Obafemi Awolowo, and other prominent heros who fought for Nigeria to achieve independence will be rolling in their graves in disappointment over Nigeria’s regressive situation.

He further said:

“The presidential seat has been a lifetime ambition for President Tinubu, and he’s achieved it. It is time for him to prove to Nigerians that he can maintain that seat by making viable changes in the economy to benefit Nigerians, not politicians.”

“Politicians are appointed to serve judiciously and should not see their appointments as birthright but an assignment that must be conclusive with positive results of attestation and commendation.”

“Of recent, Emeka Anyaoku, during an interview on the state of the nation, proclaimed that ‘Even Angel Gabriel cannot save Nigeria’. Should such a statement utterable by an elder statesman? This simply shows how insensitive our leaders are and how hopeless the nation’s situation has become.”

“The third year of the President Tinubu administration is fast approaching yet no positive changes in the economy; instead, Nigerians have registered more hardship and torment; families can’t even feed and clothe properly due to the economic downturn.

Iche added that it is time for all elder statesmen and clerics to arise in their numbers and convene a national discussion to address these issues with the president asserting their displeasure. They can also come up with viable solutions if our president is lost on ideas to move the nation forward.
