Nigerian female Afrobeats performer Tiwa Savage has expressed her belief that she is underappreciated for her important contributions to the music business.
This was revealed on a recent episode of the “Offair Show,” which is co-hosted by Gbemi and Toolz, and features the award-winning performer who is widely considered the “Queen of Afrobeats.”
The crooner of “Malo” believes she should receive more recognition than she is now receiving.
“Do you believe that the industry has provided you with your flowers?” Toolz asked.
No, Savage retorted. Regretfully, I don’t.
In the meantime, Tiwa Savage recently disclosed that when she initially heard the song “Dorobucci,” she wasn’t impressed.
She claimed that the unfinished song was being played at the hotel where they were staying by Don Jazzy, the boss of Mavin Records.
Savage said she thought the song was “crap” in an interview with NotJustOk.
Nevertheless, the single mother claimed that she was astounded by how much “Dorobucci” had changed when she finally went back and heard the finished adaptation.
She admitted, “I don’t know if people know this, but ‘Dorobucci,’ I had Don Jazzy playing that in the hotel when we were in Dubai for my wedding, and I didn’t want to tell him—but I thought it was such a crap song.”
She compared it to her popular song Eminado, which she had initially questioned.
