After the murder of Jumoke Aderounmu, a cast member of “Jenifa’s” Dairy, Nollywood actress and movie producer Funke Akindele has spoken out about how she nearly lost her mental health as a result of comments she received on social media.
During the first Live episode of the “WithChude” podcast, the actress reportedly stated that she is a strong woman who is conscious of insults and abuse on social media.
However, she was experiencing depression at the time, so she was unable to handle the abuse she received on social media as a result of Jumoke’s passing.
In response to the accusation that she neglected Jumoke prior to her death, the actress-turned-politician claimed to have grabbed her phone, gone into a room, and broadcast live on Instagram.

“All the insults on social media, I see,” she stated. and I’m a tough lady, but there came a point when I nearly lost my mind about being called out for something I didn’t do when an actor from “Jenifa” died and people claimed I didn’t support her. and I was already experiencing depression. I grabbed my phone, went into the room, and shut the door to prevent Juliana and the others from opening it.
After locking the door, some people go kill themselves. I am grateful that I merely shut the door in order to record live.
