According to reports, the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offenses Commission (ICPC) found multiple Egyptian real estate holdings connected to Nasir El-Rufai, the former governor of Kaduna State.

The assets are allegedly relevant to the ongoing ICPC investigation into events that occurred while El-Rufai was governor of Kaduna State.

Three villas and six flats were found, and it was understood that they were all situated in upscale neighborhoods and estates in Cairo, Egypt’s capital.

According to report, homes in New Cairo’s Arabilla Estate and Banafsik Estate fetch between $1,000,000 and $1,300,000.

In contrast, apartments in Cairo Festival City cost about $500,000 alone.

The properties were acquired between 2021 and 2023 while El-Rufai was still the governor of Kaduna State, according to sources cited in the ongoing investigations into his tenure.

A villa at Arabilla Estate in Cairo’s fifth settlement area, a villa at Banafsik Estate in New Cairo’s first settlement area, and a villa in Oriana II, New Cairo (near American University) are among the properties linked to El-Rufai.

Two flats in Oriana Estate, New Cairo, and four apartments in Cairo Festival City are additional properties.

According to reports, el-Rufai is being investigated by the ICPC for suspected financial misappropriations that occurred while he was the governor of Kaduna state from 2015 to 2023.

The ICPC has been holding him since February 18, 2026.

El-Rufai was also questioned by the Department of State Services (DSS) just before he was placed under ICPC custody regarding his claim that Nuhu Ribadu, the National Security Adviser, had his phone tapped.
