Igbo Speaking Community Lagos Attains New Feat as African Youths Sports Federation Appoints Chief Sunday Udeh

The Igbo speaking community attains commendable feat as the African Youth Sports Federation appoints its President General Lagos state chapter, Chief Sunday Udeh with Special Adviser in a bid to move the organisation into attainable heights.
The induction event was formally held at the Igbo speaking community secretariat in Surulere on Sunday 30th June, 2024 where all the Eze Ndigbo representing the various local govt areas in Lagos state gathered to commemorate with PG over his achievement.
Naomi Sophy Blog reports that the African Youth Sports Federation founded by Dr. Ahmed Lawal has been in existence since 1979 and had inaugurated high profiled patrons in the likes of Gen. Sanni Abacha, President GoodLuck Jonathan, others. It is a body that host honorary awards, to showcase the talent of youths in Nigeria through African youths sports federation. Football stars Daniel Amokachi, Emmanuel Amunike and others are alma matters of AYSOF.
The sports federation as a body, honours and groom talents from all 36 states of the country and has concluded about 47 honorary cup awards. Amongst this honorary cup awards includes; Obasanjo cup, GoodLuck Jonathan cup, Tinubu cup amongst other honorary tournaments.
Some of the Ezes present at the induction includes: Eze Chika Nwokedi, Eze Ndigbo Ijegun Ijeododo, Eze Nicholas, the Aigbaka of Ejigbo, Eze Livinus Ezenwan,Eze Ifeanyi Godwin Anyaogu, Ezendigbo Kosofe, Eze Dr Jesse Ecquado, Ezendigbo Surulere, Eze Stephen Agabiga, Ezendigbo Bariga, Chief Damien Umeh, Chief Fred Obialo of Apapa Community, Others….
The Chairman of Council of ‘Ndieze’, HRH Eze Chika Nwokedi in his welcome speech appreciated fellow Igbo traditional rulers for being supportive and cooperative in the affairs of the socio-cultural organisation, commended the effort of African Youth Sports Federation for seeming it fit to nominate the President General as a special adviser to the commission.
According to the co-ordinator of African Youth Sports Federation, Eze Ifeanyi Godwin Anyaogu, Ezendigbo Kosofe, the nomination of Chief Sunday Udeh stems from the various fatherly roles he’s played in different spheres as it enhances his notability. He said it is expected of their newly inducted special adviser, Chief Sunday Udeh to leverage on his leadership qualities in the delivery of valuable advice to the governing body of African Youth Sports Federation and its entirety.
Chief Sunday Ude on behalf of the Igbo speaking community and the council of Ndi Eze expressed appreciation to the African Youth Sports Federation for acknowledging his contributions leading to his appointment as special adviser to the commission. Advised all present to work uprightly, promised to live up to the expectations of the football commission and his commitment to humanity. Dedicates his awards to the Igbo speaking community.

” I’m impressed with the national honors conferred on the PG, Chief Sunday Udeh of Igbo speaking community. It is paramount to align with those who makes progress so as to get it right in life. The PG has made a big difference since his assumption of office, i commend his effort to move the council forward.

“As the President General of Igbo Speaking Community Lagos, Chief Sunday Udeh’s national appointment is a merited one for his service to humanity, leadership Initiative and his fatherly roles played in different parastatals.”

The African sports youth federation has done a good job awarding a position to Chief Sunday Ude for he is an extraordinary man and I know he will do well.

The highlight of the event is the certificate of honour presented by Igbo speaking women committee to congratulate PG Sunday Udeh for his latest achievement.
