Joe Igbokwe, a senior member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has downplayed allegations of an alliance between former vice president Atiku Abubakar and ex-Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi ahead of the 2027 elections.
Earlier reports stated that Obi had accepted Atiku’s offer to run as his vice presidential candidate.
Igbokwe responded in a Facebook post on Monday, stating that the alignment will not fly and cannot sell.

He mocked the transaction, calling it childish and unsophisticated. Igbokwe claimed that it was merely an act of desperation.

According to him, “Alhaji Atiku Abubakar’s childish and primitive dealings with the Labour Party are laughable and kindergarten.”

“This is an act of desperation. “It cannot fly or sell.”

Meanwhile, Igbokwe has indicated that Nigerian traders are responsible for the increase in food commodity prices.

In a Facebook post on Saturday, Igbokwe alleged that traders are too greedy to allow prices to fall.

The political commentator claimed that while food prices are statistically declining, they have yet to show in market pricing because to dealers’ wickedness.

Igbokwe complained that Nigerians are the worst enemies of themselves.

He wrote, “Food and commodity prices are falling, but Nigerians will not help Nigerians.”

“Our greed, depravity, and avaricious impulses do not have two parts. We’re our own worst enemies. Nigerians steal what they do not need.”
