Joe Igbokwe, the leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has urged Nasir El-Rufai, the former governor of Kaduna State, and his son to stop making divisive remarks.
Igbokwe praised the former governor for his efforts to put the APC in power in the 2023 elections in a statement posted on his Facebook page. However, he stated that El-Rufai’s vituperations were too low for a politician of his caliber and denounced them.
“I want my good friend, HE El Rufai, to stop all these not-too-good statements I see everyday,” Igbokwe claims. This is nothing compared to him. At least for the time being, his boys should also keep a solemn silence.
“I am aware of Malam’s reckless attempts to help the APC win in 2023. For APC, he dug the deepest well. This street dance, however, is completely negative and, as a result, too low. THE STORMY PETRELDazzol is the name I give him.
Igbokwe’s response comes after the former governor of Kaduna defected to the Social Democratic Party (SDP) from the APC.

El-Rufai left the APC after expressing disapproval of the party’s inability to maintain internal democracy.
According to reports, El-Rufai also charged that the APC government was departing from its core values in an interview with the British Broadcasting Corporation.
The former governor further said that cronyism, not merit, is now used to assign jobs in the current administration, which is headed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
