The Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, is dedicated to strengthening the force’s institutional capacity to fulfill its statutory purpose, according to Alumuyiwa Adejobi, the Nigeria Police Force’s (NPF) spokesperson and an Assignment Commissioner of Police.
This was said by Adejobi during a news conference on the fifth edition of the senior police officer conference and retreat, which would take place in the historic and tranquil city of Abeokuta, the capital of Ogun State, from February 24 to 26, 2025.
“The conference is part of the IGP’s ongoing effort to transform the force into a professionally competent, service-driven, rule-of-law compliant, and people-friendly security institution with the capacity to support the Federal Government’s agenda of economic prosperity and development in the country,” the Force Spokesperson said.
According to him, police strategic managers and carefully chosen policing experts from both domestic and international locations will be able to exchange ideas and conduct peer reviews during the conference on how to successfully implement community-based internal security management strategies.
In addition, he clarified that the conference serves as a forum for senior police managers nationwide to critically evaluate the force’s internal security performance and devise strategies for enhancing service delivery and safeguarding our beloved nation’s internal security area. It brings together all senior officers from the rank of Commissioner of Police and higher.
“The event’s previous edition included Ahmed Naser Al Raisi, the President of INTERPOL. With the Nigeria Police Force’s critical role in international community security, the INTERPOL President stated in his keynote address that his organization wants to further deepen INTERPOL’s partnership with Nigeria.

In the historic and tranquil city of Abeokuta, the capital of Ogun State, the fifth edition, with the topic “Improving Nigeria’s Internal Security and Economic Prosperity Through Inclusive Policing,” is set to take place from Monday, February 24, 2025, until Wednesday, February 26.
As the Special Guest of Honor, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Federal Republic of Nigeria’s Armed Forces, will start the conference during the Opening Ceremony on February 24, 2024, at 10:00 a.m.
The Senate President, the House of Representatives Speaker, State Governors, the National Security Advisor, Lawmakers, Ministers, the Chief of Defense Staff, and other leaders of the nation’s security institutions are among the numerous dignitaries anticipated to attend the inauguration ceremony.
