Okezie Ikpeazu, former governor of Abia State, has urged members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to work toward the party’s return to power in 2027.
Ikpeazu pledged his unwavering commitment to the PDP, vowing not to leave despite the recent defection of several members.
Addressing PDP supporters in Abia South at his Umuobiakwa country house, Ikpeazu pledged that the party will work tirelessly to restore the umbrella party’s winning streak.

He urged party members to be dedicated and unwavering in their support during this difficult time.
The former governor urged members to be faithful and not quit the party during difficult times, assuring them that he would continue to support the PDP considering its significance in his political career.
Speaking about the surge of defections following the party’s loss to the Labour Party in 2023, Ikpeazu urged PDP members in Obingwa to remain focused and unaffected by the defections.
Recognizing the party’s current difficulties, he encouraged members that brighter days were approaching, and those who remained loyal would reap the advantages when the tides reversed in PDP’s favor.
The former Governor praised Abraham Amah, the current executive of the Party’s State Working Committee, for leading the party back to power in 2027.
