Sunday Marshall Katung, the senator for Kaduna South Senatorial District, met with Christopher Musa, the minister of defense, to discuss the ongoing security issues that Southern Kaduna towns face.
After meeting the minister at the government Ministry of Defense in Abuja, Katung revealed this in a statement on Saturday. He described the encounter as a part of efforts to seek stronger government intervention to improve security in areas of his senatorial district.
The senator stated that the interaction was centered on the safety of those living in Kaduna South Senatorial District areas, many of which have recently experienced security threats.
“In order to address security concerns affecting some of our communities in Kaduna South Senatorial District, the meeting was an important step,” Katung stated.
He said that the Defense Minister showed a willingness to assist in efforts to restore peace and stability in the impacted areas, and he expressed pleasure with the minister’s response and dedication to addressing the security situation.
Katung also praised Musa’s strategic and all-encompassing leadership and attitude to national security.
He pointed out that the minister’s viewpoint addresses Kaduna State’s and the nation’s overall security requirements in addition to local issues.
“Looking beyond our senatorial district to the broader needs of Kaduna State and Nigeria, the minister’s approach to security is comprehensive,” he continued.
