Nyesom Wike, the minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has denied claims that he owns properties in the US, saying he has nothing to conceal.
Omoyele Sowore, a human rights activist and former presidential candidate, petitioned the Attorney General of Florida last week, demanding that the minister’s visa be banned, the alleged assets be forfeited, and those implicated be prosecuted.
According to Sowore, the minister and his wife, Justice Eberechi Wike, a sitting judge, bought the property, which is situated at 113 Spring Creek Lane, Winter Springs, Florida, in March 2025 and registered it in the names of Wike’s children, Joaquin, Jazmyne, and Jordan.
In their remarks, some organizations have urged President Bola Tinubu and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to look into the allegations to see if they are accurate.
According to Lere Olayinka, the Minister’s Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media, his principle has already publicly addressed such assertions and is unconcerned.

He emphasized that Wike is still focused on fulfilling his mandate in the Federal Capital Territory and that Nigerians are already feeling the effects of his leadership.
