During the current 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), 27 people were arrested for impersonation, according to the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).
The Nigeria Police have been tasked with taking swift legal action against the suspects.
Additionally, four Computer-Based Test (CBT) centers that failed to adhere to JAMB’s strict technical and ethical criteria were delisted.
The following centers have been delisted:
Adventure Associate, Off Hadejia Road, Kano, Kano State, behind Sheshe Supermarket.
Zaria Road, Naibawa, Kano, Kano State is home to Saadatu Rimi College of Education.

In a statement released Friday evening, JAMB spokesperson Fabian Benjamin stated, “While JAMB commends the 883 centers that have demonstrated exceptional performance, it unequivocally warns that any center which fails to meet ethical or technical standards, regardless of ownership, will be blacklisted.”
In order to obtain updated information about their new exam dates and locations, candidates who were initially assigned to the affected centers have been advised to reprint their examination slips as soon as possible.
The exam board expressed regret for any trouble this may have caused. The board, however, has said that it would not tolerate any justifications from applicants who fail to reprint their slips.

Furthermore, according to JAMB, out of 2,083,600 registered candidates nationally, over 900,000 had successfully finished the UTME as of Friday, April 25, 2025.
The board also discussed an incident at the Caleb University CBT center where some candidates were allegedly turned away because they were wearing hijabs. This activity was described as “unauthorized” by JAMB, which also attested to the fact that it was quickly fixed.
The aggressive security guard was the cause of this foolish move.
“We sincerely apologize to the impacted candidates and commend the university and center leadership for their swift action, which made sure that no candidate was unfairly disadvantaged,” JAMB said.
The testing organization reaffirmed its dedication to providing all applicants across the country with an equitable and open examination process.
