Akwa United’s captain, Jean Efala, and head coach, Kennedy Boboye, have been named March’s Player and Manager of the Month.
Jean Efala, Akwa United’s captain, exhibited great skill this month, keeping four clean sheets in five games.
Efala’s outstanding performance not only demonstrated his goalkeeping ability, but also confirmed his critical role in the team’s win.

Efala defeated noteworthy contenders in the battle for Player of the Month, including teammate Uche Sebastian, Sunshine Stars’ Liman Ahmadu, Enyimba’s Joseph Atule, Abia Warriors’ Sunday Megwo, and Remo Stars’ Samson Olasupo.

Coach Kennedy Boboye led Akwa United to an incredible four wins and one draw in five matches while on the bench. His strategic knowledge and ability to encourage his players were critical in achieving these results.
Boboye had tight competition for Manager of the Month, competing against notable individuals like as Finidi George of Rivers United, Ladan Bosso of Bayelsa United, and Mangut Mbwas of Plateau United before winning the accolade.

This distinction is significant for Akwa United because it is the first time a player or coach from the club has achieved such honours this season.
