Along with his Chief of Staff, Edison Ehie, Governor Fubara reportedly attended the service at Salvation Ministries.
This presentation was made just days after Rivers State was placed under a state of emergency by President Bola Tinubu on Tuesday, citing rising political unrest and security threats.
As part of the announcement, Ibok-Ete Ibas was named the Sole Administrator to manage the state’s operations for a first six months, while Fubara, his deputy Prof. Ngozi Odu, and every member of the Rivers State House of Assembly were suspended.
Civil society organizations, legal professionals, and political stakeholders have all responded to the ruling in different ways. On the other hand, Ibok-Ete Ibas, the recently appointed Sole Administrator, has taken up his responsibilities quickly, holding emergency security briefings with heads of local government administration, law enforcement, and traditional leaders. Additionally, he authorized the prompt processing of payments for employees of the local government and verified the release of withheld allocations.
As part of his inspection, Ibas also pledged to see that the State House of Assembly Complex’s current redevelopment is completed on schedule in order to preserve political stability.

According to certain sources, Governor Fubara moved to Bayelsa State following Tinubu’s suspension of him.
