According to former Jigawa State Governor Sule Lamido, the tense relationship between Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, the political powerhouse of Kano, and his estranged former deputy, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, will not be resolved since it is too personal.
Speaking to reporters at his Sharada office in Kano on a variety of national topics, Lamido claimed that ego was the driving force behind the rivalry between the Kano political gladiators.
“Kwankwaso and Ganduje are twin brothers; their fight is about ego, and until and unless they choose to lower it for the interest of Kano, the frosty relationship will continue to defy third party intervention,” stated Lamido, a prominent political figure in North-West Nigeria.
“They have been together, know each other too well, and have been working closely for two long years, but they have been fueling the crisis with ego,” he emphasized.
Because the complexities of the conflict are so intensely personal, Lamido insisted that “the solution to bury the hatchet lies with the two personalities, because no external influence can resolve it.”

When discussing the projected idea to establish more states in Nigeria, the PDP mainstay advised parties to proceed with prudence.
According to the Talakawa philosopher, given the numerous issues plaguing the country, the desire to establish additional states in Nigeria shouldn’t take precedence.
You know, the parts no longer trust one another. We are discussing North and South.
We are discussing Muslim-Muslim relations. We’re discussing Christians refusing. Lamido emphasized, “I mean, there are so many issues that tear us apart that must be given attention.”
“There’s insecurity above all,” the PDP chieftain clarified. No matter where you are, you are unsure about your safety.
“And then, of course, the hunger and poverty,” he said. Priorities should therefore be established. However, I have no issues if this security issue is resolved in some way.
