President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has praised Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani for his outstanding work in bringing the state’s peace, stability, and unity back. During his official visit to Kaduna on Thursday, June 19, 2025, Tinubu made the statements while launching a number of important infrastructure projects meant to boost growth and enhance the quality of life for locals.
A 300-bed Bola Ahmed Tinubu Specialist Hospital in Millennium City, the Institute of Vocational Training and Skills Development in Rigachikun, and 100 Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) vehicles intended to revolutionize the state’s public transportation system were among the projects put into service. President Tinubu further said that in order to improve Kaduna’s transportation system even more, the Federal Government would support the building of a light rail project.
Governor Uba Sani is a force for “change, stability, love, unity, and progress,” according to Tinubu, who lauded his leadership. He emphasized how the governor has transformed Kaduna from a violent and divided state to one that is today comparatively peaceful and stable. “You lead effectively. I’m delighted to collaborate with you, and I’m thrilled to announce Kaduna’s return,” Tinubu remarked.
A former governor and June 12 activist, Col. Abubakar Dangiwa Umar (rtd), was given the Commander of the Order of the Federal Republic (CFR) by Tinubu during the visit, correcting what he claimed was a previous omission during Democracy Day celebrations. For his services to democracy and development, Tinubu also named Governor Uba Sani a Commander of the Order of the Niger (CON).
The president recognized the support that Kaduna’s traditional leaders have given to efforts to promote peace. He commended the governor for improving security, recalling the difficulties encountered during the 2023 election campaigns, especially in Birnin Gwari. “I have it on good record that you can now move to Birnin Gwari without fear, even at midnight,” Tinubu said.

Tinubu was thanked by Governor Uba Sani for supporting Kaduna’s development and security agenda. He pointed out that N100 billion for the Kaduna Light-Rail Transit was included in the 2025 budget, indicating Tinubu’s dedication to the state’s master plan. While reflecting on Kaduna’s past struggles with insecurity and mistrust, Sani underlined that his administration had put in countless hours to bring safety back with federal assistance.
In addition, retired Gen. Zamani Lekwot and former Vice President Namadi Sambo paid tribute to Tinubu, describing him as a God-fearing leader dedicated to Kaduna’s change, and praised Tinubu and Sani for finishing the long-abandoned specialty hospital. Along with high-ranking officials including the National Security Advisor and the Deputy Senate President, the governors of Lagos, Ekiti, Gombe, Imo, Ogun, Kwara, Delta, Nasarawa, Kebbi, Edo, and Jigawa States graced the occasion.
