In Osun State, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared that the first phase of the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise has begun.
The action, according to INEC, came after a circular sent by the Commission’s National Headquarters on Friday.
In a statement released on Saturday by Public Affairs Officer Musa Olurode on behalf of Osun Resident Electoral Commissioner Dr. Mutiu Agboke, the Commission stated that the development was in keeping with the authorized national timeframe for the ongoing CVR.
The program would guarantee that all eligible citizens had the chance to register, update their information, or confirm their records before to upcoming elections, it further stated.

The Commission is still dedicated to making sure that every eligible voter has the chance to register. The exercise’s first phase would last until December 10, 2025, at which point other crucial actions would take place, according to the statement.
The Preliminary Register of Voters would be printed between December 13 and 14, 2025, according to INEC.
The statement stated that the printing was done to make it easier to be ready for the register’s required display.

The display for claims and objections will take place from December 16 to December 21, 2025, the Commission added.
“The public and registered voters are encouraged to visit the Commission’s thirty local government offices to verify their details,” it said.
It stated that public scrutiny remained an essential component of preserving the accuracy of the voters’ register and that members of the public were free to voice any complaints or allegations throughout the seven-day period.
On December 21, 2025, concerns resulting from the exhibition exercise would be handled by the Commission. All contributions pertaining to the claims and objections must be received, recorded, and processed by this date.
The registry would be updated as needed on December 22, 2025. The voter database’s correctness and integrity were guaranteed by the modifications.
“Phase Two of the CVR exercise would resume on January 5, 2026. The chance should be taken advantage of by all eligible persons who have not registered or who need to update their information.
“The Commission encourages all citizens who qualify to utilize this window,” the statement said.
The Commission reiterated its commitment to streamlining Nigeria’s electoral process while advising the public to stay away from false information and to follow official channels for correct information.
