The newly reformed Board of Directors and Bayo Ojulari, the newly appointed Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO), have been formally welcomed by the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL).
President Bola Tinubu reportedly announced Ojulari’s appointment early on Wednesday, replacing Mele Kyari and reorganizing the company’s leadership at the same time.
As part of a larger effort to enhance NNPCL’s operational performance and increase investor confidence in the business, this action will take effect on April 2, 2025.
In order to carry out the leadership transition, Tinubu used his authority under Section 59(2) of the Petroleum Industry Act (PIA) 2021, according to a statement released by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy.
The choice is meant to improve NNPCL’s efficiency and commercial viability.
NNPCL spokeswoman Olufemi Soneye thanked Kyari and the departing board members for their commitment to the company and their service in a separate statement released on Wednesday.
