Nigerian activist, critic, and social media influencer, Martins Vincent Otse popularly known as Very Dark Man has denied defaming human rights lawyer, Femi Falana.
Recall that Very Dark Man leaked an alleged audio recording of a discussion between Bobrisky and a man. The transvestite said that rapper Falz had contacted him, claiming that his father, Femi Falana, had told him he could assist in getting a presidential pardon, which would remove his record from any illegal activity.
Bobrisky, who was incarcerated at the time serving his sentence, claimed the esteemed attorney initiated the presidential pardon procedure before getting back to him and claiming the individual he was supposed to assist was requesting N10 million.
In a letter dated September 25, which Taiwo Olawanle, his attorney, disclosed, Falana called the accusation a savage, evil, and careless attempt to damage his name. The senior attorney claimed that he has never discussed any topic, including Bobrisky’s purported pardon, with him.Falana had also threatened legal action against VDM if he did not provide evidence of the allegation.

In a video message published on his Instagram page, Very Dark Man has now denied defaming Falana, saying that he appreciates the senior attorney for what he has done in the past.
He continued by saying that he has respect for Falana because of the work he has done to represent those who share his views in speaking out against injustices, power abuse, and corrupt government practices as a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, SAN.
VDM said; ‘’One other person he represented that made me love him was Fela Anikulapo Kuti who is a role model to me. I saw the way he spoke fearlessly and I emulated everything and I said if I will be on this earth, I will say it the way I see it and I will say it straight up. So imagine Uncle Femi Falana defending somebody like Fela. Imagine somebody like Fela. I mean, Fela came and said Muhammadu Buhari is an animal, and Muhammadu Buhari was the Head of State and Uncle Femi Falana was his lawyer.
‘‘How dare I defame him? I only reacted to the call Bobrisky made. He, Bobrisky was the one that alleged that Uncle Femi Falana and Falz collected N10 million and what I said was that I chose not to believe that Uncle Femi Falana would be associated with that and If he was, I would be disappointed.”
