The Labour Party has set up a seven-man disciplinary committee to curb the excesses of members in the party.
The LP National Chairman, Julius Abure, told journalists on Tuesday in Abuja that the decision was one of the resolutions reached at the meeting of the party’s National Working Committee (NWC).
He urged all members to play by the rules and respect the party’s constitution.
Abure said: “All party members are under obligation to respect the integrity and dignity of the party and its leadership.

“The national leadership will not hesitate to discipline any member who is not ready to obey the Constitution of the Party and obey directives.”
He said the committee is headed by the party’s National Legal Adviser, Kehinde Edun.
Other members of the committee are Chief Clement Ojukwu, Deputy National Chairman, Dr. Ayo Olorunfemi and the National Women Leader, Mrs. Dudu Manuga.
Others are Chairman, Imo chapter, Callistus Ihejiagwa, his Kano State counterpart, Alhaji Raji Mohammed, and the National Secretary, Alhaji Umar Ibrahim.
Abure urged members of the party to work together for the common purpose of lifting up the poor.
