After a one-hour, thirty-minute delay caused by a pilot’s protest for unpaid entitlements, Max Air has resumed its flight to Maiduguri.

Zagazola Makama reported that the pilot allegedly declined to fly the flight, alleging pay disputes with the airline’s management, leaving passengers stranded at first.

Shortly after the pilot and crew were allegedly paid their unpaid salary, the airline finally announced boarding at 2:00 p.m. following protracted talks.

Many passengers, however, were unhappy about the episode, and some even questioned the pilot’s emotional state after the lengthy standoff.

“A lot of us were concerned. One traveler remarked, “We’re happy the problem was fixed, but we couldn’t help but wonder if the pilot was in the right frame of mind to fly after such a confrontation.”

Another traveler referred to the incident as “unprofessional and unsettling,” urging Max Air to handle employee welfare issues in-house to prevent flight operations from being disrupted.

In Maiduguri, attempts to get feedback from Max Air officials were futile since management personnel refused to discuss the matter.
