Members of Ndi Igbo Buru’Otu Association Win High-End Home Appliances Via Raffle Draw at the Annual End of Year Celebration

The Ndigbo Buru’Otu Association of Nigeria end-of-year celebration carries a variety of activities for 2024, significantly the raffle draw. Members in participation won high-end items including: a fridge, television, generator, washing machine, gas cookers, fan, gold watches, bags of rice, cartons of noodles, and other mouthwatering prizes via a fair raffle draw.
The 9-year-old association, known for its versatility in ensuring that members welfare is topmost in the list of priorities, celebrated the closing of the year on Saturday, December 7th, 2024, with lots of activities like gift sharing and quality prizes, as done every year to appreciate members. The association had, in its 9 years of existence, prioritized supporting the less privileged, widows, and widowers financially as a core mission.
During the end-of-year event, the president of the Association, Eze Chika Nwokedi, also presented a N40,000 cash gift to widowed members of the association to support their financial needs for the yuletide season. This charity was also extended to widowers as against societal insinuations, which imply that widows are more needy and should be given utmost preference in financial assistance than the widowers, who are men. The association is making sure that both genders suffering the loss of their partner benefit from the goodwill.
The highlight of this year’s celebration is the raffle draw event, uniquely and fairly done, as noted by the chairman of the raffle draw committee, Chief Martins Okezie. He said the raffle draw is orchestrated by the association to appreciate the members, enable fair participation and wins, and promote the association positively before the public.
Speaking with Eze Chika Nwokedi, the founder of the Ndigbo Buru’Otu Association of Nigeria, he told the press that the raffle draw is very significant during the association’s end-of-year program and is done fairly. He said at first, the raffle draw was not appreciated initially by members; hence last year’s inclusion of nonmembers, but this year, members showed more interest and went home with good prizes ranging from high-end home appliances to other gift items.
Eze Chika Nwokedi talked about the success of the association in the 9 years of its existence. He noted that their personal account presently holds significant figures in almost 100s of millions, which serves as funding for members welfare, including loans for businesses and emergencies and support funds for the less privileged, widows, and widowers. He said loans given to members are without collateral or commission with a favorable repayment period. More so, he said the association only has its secretariat in Lagos but has members in the diaspora. Other privileges of being a member also include financial benefits given to next of kin in the situation of the death of a member, assistance in resolving law enforcement issues (legit issues, not fraudulent ones), payment of hospital bills for a needy member, and the less privileged, who are nonmembers but solicit support.
Other activities at the 2024 event include the yearly enthronement of kings and queens of the association, cutting of cake for December celebrants who are members of the association, dances, and others…
This year’s enthronement of queen goes to Chika Onyegbuchi, a newly confirmed member of the association and an enterprising networker. She says the appointment will enable her to learn and get better, advised members of the association to continually show kindness to people to enhance positive reviews of what the association stands for as she promises to deliver on her newly assumed duty.
Winners of this year’s raffle draws are Onyeka Okonkwo (won a big 43-inch television), Chukwuemeka Nwagu (won a deep freezer), Somtochukwu Samuel Nwokedi (won a generator set), Abundant Nwokedi (won a bag of rice), Bishop Moses Okwuosa, Chinonso Emmanuel, Chukwuebuka Nwagu, and others with over 50 items won.
