Former Big Brother Naija reality star, Pere Egbi, has revealed that one of his friends recently committed suicide due to cyberbullying.
The actor, who disclosed this via his X handle on Monday, did not specify whether the incident happened in Nigeria or the United States, where he is based.
“I lost a friend today due to online bullying. Committed suicide. Smh. RIP champ. It is well,” he wrote.
DAILY POST recalls that Pere recently sparked controversy after claiming that the South African movie industry is ahead of Nollywood in filmmaking, storytelling, and work ethics.
He emphasised that Nigeria’s film industry still has a lot to learn from its South African counterpart.
Pere has acted in and produced a handful of Nollywood and international movies such as Gem of the Rain Forest, Pound of Flesh, and Blood Vessel.
