A coordinated nighttime airstrike in Bula, Yobe State, and the Banki axis of Borno State has killed over 25 terrorists, according to the Nigerian Air Force (NAF).
In a statement released in Abuja on Saturday, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, the NAF’s Director of Public Relations and Information, revealed this.
The September 18 operations, according to Ejodame, were conducted in response to reliable intelligence on terrorist activity in the region that was supplied by ground forces.
The targets were monitored and many terrorist organizations north of Banki were identified by a force package comprising Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) assets and strike aircraft, he stated.

He said that a coordinated offensive was made possible by the relaying of real-time updates to base operations and ground units.
In three consecutive precision strikes on the terrorists’ routes of movement and gathering places, the strike aircraft successfully eliminated over 25 combatants.
Ground soldiers remained in defensive positions, according to post-strike reconnaissance, and no new threats were seen, Ejodame stated.
According to the NAF spokesperson, the action showed the Air Force’s steadfast dedication to assisting ground forces and protecting northeastern Nigeria.
Along with denying terrorists their freedom of movement, he said the mission demonstrated NAF’s determination to keep up the pressure on criminal organizations that pose a threat to the area.
