The Nigerian Air Force has declared the successful execution of precise airstrikes on Boko Haram strongholds in Borno State, which killed many terrorists and destroyed major supply facilities.
The assault, known as assault HADIN KAI, took place on June 5 and 6 in the Tumbumma Baba and Chiralia districts of the Southern Tumbuns, which militants have long exploited for tactical coordination and supply storage.
In a statement issued on Saturday, Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet, Director of Public Relations and Information at NAF Headquarters, stated that the strikes were conducted in response to credible intelligence and were meticulously scheduled to prevent planned attacks during the Eid-el-Kabir celebrations.
“In a series of precision airstrikes conducted on 5 and 6 June 2025, the Nigerian Air Force, under Operation HADIN KAI, decimated key Boko Haram hideouts at Tumbumma Baba and Chiralia in the Southern Tumbuns, Borno State,” according to a statement.
According to the Air Force, rebels were planning to launch assaults to disturb the festivities. The preemptive strikes were therefore intended to avert such acts of violence.

“NAF aircraft targeted terrorist structures reportedly used for storage and coordination, delivering direct hits and crippling planned attacks aimed at disrupting Eid celebrations,” according to Ejodame.
Following the strikes, Battle Damage Assessments (BDAs) revealed the neutralisation of many terrorists and the loss of crucial logistical facilities, giving a substantial blow to the terrorists’ operational capabilities.
Ejodame continued: “This pre-emptive action underscores the Nigerian Air Force’s commitment to safeguarding civilian lives and supporting national security objectives.”
