The naira traded N1, 540/$1 at the official window on Friday.
Data from the Nigerian Autonomous Foreign Exchange Market (NAFEM) showed that the figure was N36 lower than the N1, 576/$1 the currency traded at the official window on Wednesday.
The naira continued its slump against the dollar at the parallel section of the forex market to trade at N1,700/$1 as against the previous day’s N1,695/$1, indicating a loss of N5 for the local currency.

The naira, however, gained N5 against the British Pound to trade N2, 265/£1 as against the previous N2,270£1.
The Canadian dollar traded flat at N1,280| CA$1.
The naira closed flat against the Euro to trade ₦1,860/€1.
