Mrs. Didi Esther Walson-Jack, the Chairman of the National Council on Establishments (NCE) and Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (HCSF), has characterized the supreme policy-making body of Civil Service administration as a vital and essential tool for the efficient execution of national government policies.
This was revealed by Mrs. Didi Walson-Jack during her keynote speech at the Council meeting’s formal opening ceremony in Ede, Osun State.
The HCSF also reaffirmed the Civil Service’s dedication to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, stressing that the accomplishment of national objectives depends on the service’s ability to successfully plan, carry out, and oversee government initiatives.

On Monday, Mrs. Didi Walson-Jack thanked Senator (Dr.) Ademola J. Adeleke, the governor of Osun State, for hosting the NCE with grace and for the great hospitality shown to all participants and stakeholders, according to Mrs. Eno Olotu, head of information and public relations.
In order to achieve the Service’s common aims, objectives, and aspirations, the HCSF further stated that her office was committed to supporting the State Heads of Service as needed through improved cooperation and partnerships on capability creation.
In my first NCE meeting, I would like to reiterate that the success of our ongoing reforms depends on the cooperation and dedication of all Public Sector stakeholders, and that our commitment and efforts are crucial to ensuring that the Civil Service meets Nigerians’ current expectations and develops to better serve the public. “I said,” Walson-Jack said.
The Head of the Federation’s Civil Service and all Council members were welcomed to the “State of the Living Spring” by Osun State Governor H.E. Senator Ademola Jackson Adeleke, who was represented by Deputy Governor H.E. Prince Kola Adewusi. Governor Adeleke emphasized that the welfare of employees and retirees is a primary concern in his 5-Point Action Plan and characterized the public service as the engine propelling his administration’s advancement. He urged the Council to hold meaningful and fruitful discussions in order to develop policies that will advance the country.
The welfare of workers and retirees in the state is a top concern of his government, as stated in his 5-Point Action Plan, Governor Ademola Adeleke said, describing the public sector as the engine of his administration’s growth. He filed a lawsuit to force the Council to have meaningful and productive discussions that lead to measures that will benefit the country.
In his goodwill message, Senator Oluwole Cyril Fasuyi, the chairman of the Senate Committee on Establishments and Public Service Matters, praised the Nigeria Civil Service as the backbone of government operations and a vital component of Nigeria’s unity, progress, and development.
In her vote of thanks, Dr. Deborah Odoh, Permanent Secretary, Service Policies and Strategy Office, Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, thanked the Osun State government and people for their hospitality and kindness.
She praised the dedication of each State Head of Service to advancing reforms in their individual jurisdictions and acknowledged the HCSF’s vibrant leadership.

Additionally, Dr. Odoh thanked all of the delegates and other interested parties for their contributions to building a more resilient, effective, and strong public service.
A technical meeting of officials, including Permanent Secretaries of Establishments from throughout the Federation and the Permanent Secretary, Service Policies and Strategy Office, Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, preceded the Council Meeting, which was chaired by Mrs. Didi Esther Walson-Jack, the Head of the Federation’s Civil Service, and included the Heads of Service of the 36 States of the Federation and the Federal Capital Territory as members.
Members emphasized the significance of ongoing cooperation between the Federation’s Head of Civil Service and the State Heads of Service on best practices in the public services in a communiqué released following the meeting.
The importance of the AMPLE ideals in reviving public trust in the public service was again reiterated throughout the conference.
The meeting approved the extension of the entry requirements for selected cadres, the adoption of modern technology and innovation in administrative processes, the digitalization of the COMPRO examinations within the Service, the extension of the payment of Occupational Hazard Allowance to certain Agricultural Professionals in the Public Service, the review of the Schemes of Service to reflect Council’s approvals, and the consideration of thirty-two memoranda on various establishment matters.
