National Grid Collapse: House Of Reps Speaker Declares An Opening Hearing.

House of reps speaker Femi Gbajabiamila, represented by Hon. Ganiyu Johnson, a seasoned engineer and a member of the committee declares an open hearing to investigate the reoccurring effects of national grid collapse in the country on 20th October, 2022 at the National Assembly Complex, Abuja.
The effects of the national grid collapse has been a call for concern following its latest development which has brought to a halt the distribution of electricity supply efficiently in the country. This issue has brought together an investigative panel, members of the house of reps, stakeholders to create a lasting solutions in the power sector.
Hon. Ganiu Johnson commended the chairman’s effort for putting the committee together in search of ways to address the grid collapse issues resurfacing in the country. He also acknowledged all who was present at the meeting. This includes: Colleagues who have holistically supported the chairman to move the power sector forward, the Hon. Minister , Perm. Secretary, captains of the industry, invited guest and the press.
Hon Ganiu commenced the hearing by giving an opening remark as he expresses delight and satisfaction to see so many critical stake holders gathered at the meeting which gives him the confidence that the deliberations of the investigative hearing will be beneficial to the country.
A stable power sector is essential for the growth and sustainability of a flourishing National Economy. Ensuring stability in the power sector and providing the country’s energy need is a responsibility the government and this house needs to take seriously. The committee of power, as agreed to a motion in the house, commenced an investigative hearing to examine the causes of repeated grid collapse and the nationwide blackout experienced, resulting from incessant collapse, Hon. Ganiu stated.
The speaker also noted that, following the hearing and other engagement with the industries operators, regulators and varied stakeholders, the committee will make recommendations to the house of representatives and legislative on other interventions to prevent future reoccurrences as this is an important assignment which outcome has the potential to affect the country retrogressively if not properly managed.

He further stated that the success of this present assignment requires that all hands be on deck as a team. In confidence, he stated that the chairman Hon. Mogaji Aliu and members of the committee will do a delightful job. The speaker urged stakeholders holders to co-operate with the team by providing vital informations and context to guide deliberations as well as informed decisions as he declares the hearing open.
