The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has revealed the reason behind Pretty Mike’s arrest in a nightclub.

Remember that it was stated that Pretty Mike and other others were arrested in a nightclub?

Speaking on the development in a statement released by its Director of Media and Advocacy, Femi Babafemi, the Agency declared that it is illegal to plan a gathering with the intent to use, distribute, or abuse illegal substances.

According to Babafemi, the NDLEA conducted a raid at a drug party that took place on Saturday, October 25, 2025, into the early hours of Sunday, October 26, 2025, at Proxy Night Club, which is located at 7 Akin Adesola Street, Victoria Island, Lagos. Over 100 people were arrested during the raid, along with the establishment’s owner, Mike Eze Nwalie Nwogu, also known as Pretty Mike, and his manager, Joachin Millary.

It is against the law to plan, host, and attend drug parties, he cautioned nightclub owners and partygoers.

According to the statement, “These ‘drug parties’ will be treated as serious narcotic offenses because they violate the explicit provisions of the NDLEA Act.”

“The organizers of the drug party at Proxy Night Club went above and beyond by creating and distributing flyers inviting people looking for fun to get together and commit crimes. This is not only an incitement to commit crimes but also an insult to the nation’s law enforcement capabilities if it is allowed to continue.

“Drug misuse is currently very common in Nigeria, especially among our young people. These illegal drug parties actively undermine our existing national efforts to protect public health and security in addition to feeding the drug epidemic and acting as recruitment centers for new drug addicts.

“In the most recent instance, the NDLEA was thorough and professional both before and during the raid. Following information about the party, our undercover agents monitored the venue, pre-purchased illegal drugs from within the club, and watched and documented drug transactions and abuse for four hours during the party, from 11 p.m. on Saturday to 3 a.m. on Sunday. Eventually, we stopped the blatant public display of illegality and made arrests.

“The two main suspects, Pretty Mike and his manager, Joachin Millary, are still in custody after 384.882 kilograms of Canadian Loud, a potent strain of cannabis and other substances, were seized from the club’s store. All attendees who were initially arrested were later profiled, addressed, counseled, and released within hours in custody, in accordance with best global practices.”

Owners of houses, hotels, and event venues who are discovered to be knowingly hosting such unlawful activities run the possibility of having their assets seized and forfeited to the Federal Government, even though the Agency will step up monitoring and use the full force of the law against offenders. We will sue for confiscation of the property, Proxy Night Club, where the drugs were discovered, and those detained in the ongoing case will be prosecuted.

“All patriotic Nigerians, parents, religious and community leaders, and concerned citizens are urged by the Agency to be watchful, report such activities, and collaborate with the NDLEA in tackling this threat to national well-being.”
