Negotiation with bandits has not yeilded results, we are eliminating them – Nigerian Army.

The military will not engage in negotiations with terrorists, as the Nigerian Army has reaffirmed, but will instead hunt them out and destroy them.
This was revealed during a press conference with journalists at the 1 Brigade Cantonment in Gusau, the capital of Zamfara State, by Major General Godwin Mutkut, the General Officer Commanding, 8 Division, Nigerian Army, Sokoto.
The General emphasized that there would be no negotiations with anyone who threatened the country’s peace and urged all terrorists and bandits to fully surrender, especially those in the Northwestern region.
The terrorists are still having a difficult time, according to the army, and their only alternative is to lay down their weapons and submit to the soldiers.
Negotiation is a trap; they have used it in the past and it produced no results, so why are they still making the same mistakes? “Nobody negotiated with them before they entered the bush, and now that the fire is hitting them, they want to negotiate. Well, I won’t call it negotiation; they should just come out and surrender.” General Mutkut proclaimed.
He said, “The military will not bargain with the bandits but will instead pursue them in their lairs to eliminate them.”
“Despite the rainy season, the forces have been entering troublesome areas in Zamfara State, including Zurmi, Shinkafi, Tsafe, Dansadau, and other troubled areas, driving the terrorists out of their hiding spots.
“There are many places that we haven’t yet visited, but right now, despite the rain, we are going there and giving the bandits a bloody nose. If they want to survive, they should just surrender.”
The robbers are currently aiming for soft targets, particularly when they see unarmed civilians on roads or in villages.

Whenever there was a distress call before the arrival of the army, he instructed Zamfara State’s District Heads and local people to organize groups that would protect their areas.
