The election of a capable, patriotic, and visionary president who can address insecurity, generate employment, and enhance the standard of living for all Nigerians is what will determine the country’s future, according to presidential candidate Dr. Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim.
He explained this by pointing out that certain politicians appear to be putting up a coordinated effort to elect a Southern-born president in 2027.
In a Thursday statement, Dr. Olawepo-Hashim denounced what he called the “persistent manipulation of religion and ethnicity by corrupt political opportunists” who have failed to provide Nigerians with genuine development.
A president from the South or the North is not necessary for Nigeria. A good president who can secure the country, boost the economy, and give our people hope is what our nation desperately needs, Hashim said.

Noting examples from Lagos, Kano, and Gboko constituencies, he said that recent political trends and previous elections have demonstrated that Nigerians are able to make decisions based on competence rather than tribal or religious sentiment.

Voters in Lagos have more recently chosen a candidate from another area over the current president.
