Martin Luther Agwai, the former chief of defense staff, asked on Saturday for a review of the security architecture’s hiring procedure in an attempt to address the nation’s insecurity.
He made the appeal in Kaduna during a House of Justice-sponsored national summit with the theme “Security, Justice, and National Reorientation.”
While acknowledging the administration’s attempts to eradicate insecurity in the nation, Agwai voiced concerns about the present hiring procedure, which selects candidates based on the influence of high-ranking government officials.
In order to put the nation on track for growth and development, Agwai, who chaired the event, emphasized the importance of addressing the present security concerns.
“If the federal and state governments work together to properly address the issues of justice, fairness, and equity, insecurity will be greatly reduced,” Agwai said.
“To a certain extent, insecurity must be controlled in order for growth to flourish. “To promote this development, everyone needs to be on board,” he continued.
He added that there is a lot of progress being done and that insecurity is being addressed better.
He emphasized that Nigerians would make more progress if they cooperated.
During a presentation, Mr. Mike Omeri, the former Director-General of the National Orientation Agency, said that the country’s insecurity is being made worse by matters of justice, equity, and fairness.
He claimed that because of the system, Nigerians are now compelled to look for justice through unusual channels like TV series or by approaching well-known individuals.
In order to ensure that justice is both efficient and effective, Barrister Gloria Ballason, the CEO of the House of Justice and the person who organized the summit, spoke about the administration of justice and urged the judiciary to deliver it promptly.

“While it is true that some judges and attorneys serve with honor, unethical behavior must be rectified, serious infractions must be punished, and crimes or breaches of trust must be recognized and dealt with appropriately.”
“The people cannot trust the court system if it is not above reproach, like Caesar’s wife was. How can judges compete against horses in a race if they are unable to keep up with simple humans due to age fraud? “Oh,” Ballason said.
A national reorientation and the constant reinforcement of values and behaviors that inspire people to act in ways that advance peace, harmony, and national growth are other demands made by Ballason.
Experts on social, economic, and security issues from both inside and outside the nation were said to have attended the summit in large numbers.
