In response to widely circulated internet rumors, the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has opened an investigation into claims of rampant extortion by its employees along the Lagos-Seme border corridor.
In order to guarantee an open and unimpeded investigation, Comptroller General of Immigration Kemi Nandap ordered the suspension of comptrollers in charge of the impacted commands as part of immediate actions.
