A committee has been established by the National Judicial Council to look into several claims of wrongdoing against Hon. Justice Adepele Ojo, the chief judge of Osun State.
According to the accusations made against her, Justice Ojo had persistently disregarded the moral and legal requirements of her job.
She was also charged with abuse of power, corruption, disregard for the fundamentals of justice, and disobedience to court orders.
It is thought that these acts have seriously damaged the state’s judiciary’s reputation.
The seriousness of the accusations was further described in a petition that the Concerned Citizens of Nigeria, Osun State chapter, submitted to the NJC.
According to the appeal, Justice Ojo’s actions have broken the law’s language and spirit. She is accused by the group of flagrantly disobeying the law, abusing her position, and violating professional ethics.

Justice Ojo had already been suspended by Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke in response to a resolution passed by the State House of Assembly.
However, the NJC criticized the procedure, and the Chief Judge was put back in her role.
