The pump price of gasoline has been reduced by the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) to ₦865 per liter in Lagos and ₦890 per liter in Abuja at all of its retail locations.
From the previous costs of ₦875 and ₦900 per litre in both cities, this is a ₦10 decrease. The Cable checked numerous NNPC filling stations on Friday and found the increased rates.
Fuel was sold for ₦865 per liter at the company’s Abule Ado, Lagos location, and ₦890 per liter at the NNPC station in Abuja, which is situated in the Federal Housing Authority, Kubwa.
Just nine days have passed since NNPC lowered gasoline prices to ₦875 in Lagos and ₦900 in Abuja on August 6, two days after increasing them to ₦915 and ₦955, respectively.

Dangote Petroleum Refinery also declared a price cut on August 12 from ₦850 to ₦820 per liter.

By promising the public a consistent supply of petroleum products, the refinery reiterated its dedication to Nigeria’s economic growth.

“The Dangote Petroleum Refinery guarantees the public a steady and uninterrupted supply of petroleum products as part of our unwavering commitment to national development,” the statement said.

The corporation declared plans to introduce 4,000 vehicles powered by compressed natural gas (CNG) for gasoline distribution around the country as part of its environmental initiative.

“With effect from August 15, 2025, we will begin the phased deployment of 4,000 CNG-powered trucks for fuel distribution throughout Nigeria,” Dangote continued.
