The National Chairman of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Ajuji Ahmed, has expressed disapproval of former members who defected to other political organizations.
Ahmed predicted that individuals who left the NNPP would face difficulties in their new parties and a difficult path ahead.
He said these things on Thursday in Abuja during the party’s 10th National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting.
Despite the NNPP’s small size, he said it is stronger and more cohesive than many other parties, calling the former members “renegades.”
Ahmed advised party members to disregard individuals who defected, claiming that their choice would only cause them suffering.
“Leaving a peaceful party for troubled ones is a bad choice,” he continued.
He also made fun of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), claiming that the NNPP had maintained stability in spite of outside attempts to cause issues.
Ahmed claims that there are no internal differences inside the NNPP and that no one is in charge of it.
He emphasized that the party is still cohesive and dedicated to its objectives and guiding ideas rather than being divided into factions or undermined by outside influences.
“I implore you to completely forget the antics of renegades who claim to be defectors,” Ahmed remarked.
“May they continue to face difficulties.
We wish a man or men a safe journey if they choose to jump from placid waters only to land in a blazing fire rather than just a frying pan.
“With two party chairmen, we are not divided into three sections.” We are NNPP; no one all-powerful outside entity has taken control of us, broken us, and rendered us useless. We are one.
