Mojisola Meranda, the substantive Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, resigned as parliament leader, according to Mudashiru Obasa, the impeached Speaker.
Following the restoration of his security details, Obasa reportedly stormed the Assembly compound on Thursday, while Meranda’s security details were first withdrawn and then reinstated.
Four politicians attended the plenary session of the State House of Assembly, which Obasa presided over; the other MPs disapproved of him.
During the peace conference last weekend at the Lagos House in Marina, Obasa said Meranda resigned, according to an interview on Channels Television.
“All party leaders attended the meeting in Marina, where it was made clear—with the hope that all members were present—that Meranda herself had resigned,” he stated. She said that she was leaving her position.

These days, the related collateral is removed when an employee leaves their position. That begs the question: Have you resigned as well? We recognize that a component of the agreement is for you to also resign.
Let them show you the letter of resignation. Would I still be here if I resigned, too? I have no doubt that even though we have never spoken before, you would still refer to me as Speaker.
