Chidi, the adopted first son of Nigerian socialite and businessman Obinna Oyiegbu, often known as Obi Cubana, has responded to the assertion that he is his next of kin.
When Chidi posted a video on TikTok claiming to be the billionaire’s next of kin, it created a commotion.
“I just realized that I be next of kin,” he wrote as the caption for the video.
Obi Cubana posted a picture of himself with his biological kid Alex on Instagram captioned, “Ancient and modern, eyes on the ball. @dtwalx aka next of kin,” as if in response.
Alex posted, “I’m using my headphones right now,” in the comments area. Obi Cubana responded, “That’s right, original next-of-kin.”
Obi Cubana’s post caused a stir, with many criticizing him for failing to resolve the matter within.
@Abazwhyllzz, one X user, commented, “Not required. Instead of going to post sha, he ought to have ordered the individual to remove the content from TikTok and then worked things out internally.
“As a poor man, I take care of my own affairs.”
I don’t think he considered the long-term effects,” a second user, @Soyecatherings, remarked. The best way to handle things, sha, wasn’t this. But even considering being the next of kin today just implies that Obi must be deceased or too old to manage affairs.
A third user, @Gladys_Onyetem, commented, “A child was only making an innocent film, so many things were thrown in, na wah for una ooo.

Another person, @DemoOfUK, commented, “Nawa o. “Come chop, you have a long spoon,” they say. Why do you want to claim Omo Onile for someone else’s land?
