Twenty drivers have been found guilty of various traffic infractions in the state by the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Ogun State Command.

Under the direction of Her Worship, Chief Magistrate O.T. Odunsaya, the offenders were found guilty in Phase II of the FRSC Mobile Court, which was held at the Itori unit command.

The perpetrators were charged and found guilty, according to a news release issued on Friday by Odunsi Afolabi, the Corps Public Relations Officer.

Twenty criminals were arraigned and found guilty during the proceedings; no releases were noted. There were 40 recorded offenses, 39 of which resulted in various fines and none of which carried a jail sentence, he said.

According to Afolabi, safety infractions such speed limit devices, overloading, seatbelt and driver’s license violations, tires, vehicle licenses, number plate violations, general vehicle maintenance, and related traffic infractions were the major focus of the enforcement operation.

Corps Commander Akinwunmi Fasakin, the Sector Commander, stressed during the meeting that the exercise is an essential part of the command’s long-term enforcement plan.

According to Fasakin, the mobile courts reduce traffic accidents along the state’s operational corridors by improving operational visibility and enforcing strict adherence to traffic laws.

However, he noted that the drill was accompanied by sufficient security from armed forces and praised the peaceful and orderly conduct of the activities.

The commander emphasized that the measure serves as a deterrent to reckless driving and highlights its commitment to prosecuting those who endanger lives on Nigerian roads. He urged drivers to prioritize safe driving practices and ensure proper vehicle documentation in order to prevent avoidable injuries and fatalities.
