In honor of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Ogun State Executive Council has authorized renaming the Sagamu–Iperu–Sapade Expressway as the Bola Ahmed Tinubu Expressway.
The declaration to rename the Artery Bypass was made last Saturday during the commissioning of the Gateway International Airport and other significant projects.
In a similar event, the late Oba Adeleke Idowu Basibo’s contributions to the community have led to the renaming of the former Aviation Village in Iperu.
Additionally, as part of the Light Up Ogun Project, the Council authorized the purchase of fifty energy transformers to enhance the state’s power supply.
The Council also approved the acquisition of 12 Toyota Fortuners and 20 Suzuki Grand Vitaras to help public officials with their administrative tasks.
Traditional leadership nominations and recognition in different communities are additional options. The Olu of Odeda stool in the Odeda Local Government Area was declared by the Council.
Additionally, it approved the appointments of Bashorun Peter Oluwole Ogunbayo as the Odemo of Ishara, Chief Yaya Oriyomi as the Olu of Mowe, and Prince Adeyemi Ibikunle Opeaye as the Oludotun of Idotun in Ikenne Local Government Area.
The state government’s ongoing emphasis on infrastructure development, improved local governance, and community leadership is reflected in the approvals.
