Claims of development under the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) are absurd, according to Kola Ologbondiyan, a former national publicity secretary for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
He made this statement on Wednesday in response to recent APC defections during a broadcast on Channels Television.
Ologbondiyan continued by saying that, especially under the current government, the APC has cultivated a politically polarizing atmosphere.
“It is regrettable that anyone would look at Nigeria today and claim that there is progressive governance; it is absurd,” he remarked. It is dramcomical what is going on in Edo.
“The political volatility and divisiveness displayed by the Tinubu administration is concerning. We live in a very polarizing political environment where parties now blatantly assert their exclusive control over political space, begs the question, “What if the opposition starts?”
According to the former spokesperson, many Nigerians are just putting up with the status quo while they wait for the next election, underscoring the rising dissatisfaction in the country.

“If you want to gauge the nation’s mood, Nigerians are simply anticipating 2027.” Some have even called the president a one-term president, or OTP. He then on, “We have to make sure that the 2027 elections are free of problems, which doesn’t dictate who will be president.”
He went on to say that he was extremely concerned about the internal situation in his party and that the PDP could not advance under Ambassador Umar Damagum, who is now serving as acting chairman.
“I will not deny that the PDP is experiencing instability. He said that the party would not advance as long as Ambassador Umar Damagum remained the acting chairman.
