Following Omotoso’s official classification as a “undesirable person” by the South African Department of Home Affairs, he was expelled from the nation on May 18, 2025. At OR Tambo International Airport, the clerk is shown being accompanied by police and immigration officers as he boards a flight headed for Nigeria in a widely circulated video.
Shortly after Omotoso was acquitted on 32 charges, including rape and human trafficking, in April 2025, this development occurred. Before being exonerated of all allegations, he was detained in 2017 and held for almost eight years, which is where his legal issues began.
